Insurance
Fully comprehensive Marine and Goods in Transit cover is arranged by our own company. International Export Packers has a Financial Services advisor on board and is therefore able to cover your Goods for any part of its journey; during packing, storage, or shipping to any part of the world.
Insurance can be a complicated procedure but we aim to make it a simple operation. IEP produce our own Policy Certificates, underwritten by the Lloyds syndicate under an Open Marine Policy. Not only will this give you peace of mind that your cargo is always correctly insured, but you can be confident that any claim will be handled professionally and properly. Our network of Settling Agents is second to none and wherever you’re sending your goods, you can rest assured that they are covered by IEP’s insurance.
Insurance and Letters of Credit
When the cargo we are covering for Insurance is moving under a Letter of Credit, there will usually be a requirement for the Insurance certificate to comply with the Letter of Credit. Because we complete the Certificate ourselves, there is the flexibility and experience always on hand to adhere to the many complicated and intricate Letter of Credit requirements.
Heavy lift and Machinery Insurance
When we handle expensive or large items for packing and onward shipment, we will need to discuss the insurance liability relating to the lifting part of the packing process. We will look at requirements, assess the size of crane on site or at our depots, then process a ‘Contract lift’ with slingers and banksmen to comply with all health and safety regulations, whilst producing the insurance cover to ensure that this delicate part of the operation is well and truly underwritten. This is a bespoke service added on to our packing service so please contact us to discuss your needs
Duty of Care and General Liability Cover
International Export Packers operates to a variety of standard trading terms and conditions: each area of our production or service is covered under different liability cover. IEP has a ‘Duty of Care’, meaning that we will always try to handle your goods in a correct and proper manner, supported by our Liability Cover. If you need further clarification or assistance in this important matter please contact Ian Clifford through the IEP Office.
